Hey everyone,
The Clemson game is this Thursday night, so we are going to start tailgating around 5pm in the courtyard behind the Love building. Thanks to one of our alumni (Scott Liebermann) who works for exponent, we are going to have corporate sponsorship for this tailgate. That means we will have FREE FOOD, so I hope to see everyone there to at least mooch off the free food and pretend that they care about the game (which should be awesome as it is every year).

First Meeting of the Semester
The Materials Society at Georgia Tech (previously called the MSE Umbrella Society) is holding its first meeting on Tuesday, September 8 at 11am in Love 185. This will be an opportunity for students to network with other students, learn about the materials societies included in a Material Advantage membership, upcoming conferences and events.
David Morrison, chair of the Atlanta ASM chapter, will discuss what events the chapter sponsors, opportunities for student involvement, and his professional work. In addition, grad students will answer questions related to graduate school applications and other MSE or GT related questions. And, of course, we will have free pizza!
Hope to see everyone there!

Volunteering for MSE Materials Camp
Hi everyone,
Some of you expressed interest in volunteering to help out with the ASM Materials Camp for Teachers this summer. It is taking place here at GT from July 13-17, and the organizers need 2 student volunteers per day, Mon-Thurs, each for about an hour (one in the morning, one in the afternoon) to set up coffee and snacks. All volunteers will get a voucher for free lunch at the student center on the day they volunteer. On Friday, they need 4 volunteers for 3 hours (2-5PM) to help clean up at the end of the camp. These volunteers will get free buffet lunch that Friday.
Let me know if you are interested, or just come to the meeting on Thursday at 11:30AM in the Love building 3rd floor atrium.
Thanks,
Lindsey

Marcus Nanotechnology Building Formally Dedicated
Three years after breaking ground, Georgia Tech is set to dedicate the Marcus Nanotechnology Building, one of the most ambitious and expensive projects in the Institute’s history. The ceremony will be held on Friday, April 24, at 3PM
The 190,000-square-foot complex poises Georgia Tech to be a global hub for nanotechnology research and development while igniting an environment that could potentially transform both local and state economies.
The Marcus building, coupled with current nanotechnology research facilities at the Pettit Microelectronics Building, creates an unparalleled complex for the development of nanotechnology enhanced by world-class researchers, faculty and student talent.
